Example No. 1 – LA CUD

LA-CUD Multilam technology provides a technological advantage to switchgear. Allowing increased currents and lower power loss with limited insertion depths.

The LA-CUD Multilam, provides lower power loss at connection point providing better thermal management with decreased size in the bushing geometry compared to competitive solutions. The LA-CUD will not require pre-rolling and the groove removes the need for retaining rings and reduces the number of parts for customer to track in inventory.

Example No. 2 - Power Transfromers

Barrier boards made of Transformer board provide drip-proof separation of the oil in the main tank from the oil in the tap changer compartment. Thus the risk a tap changer failure will have an impact on the transformer active part can be reduced. The tap changer is connected to the regulating winding and controls the voltage at the transformer terminals. The electrical connection between tap changer and regulating winding is made by the plug contact system on the barrier board for quick assembly.

Example No. 3 - High voltage test equipment

Systems for overall testing of current transformers, such as excitation test, insulation test, power frequency withstand test and accuracy test. For the latter an AC current source is used that supplies currents from < 1A up to 10‘000A using range switches which are capable of carrying currents of 2‘500A continuous and more than 5‘000A intermittent.

Example No. 4 - HV current transformer

Depending on the requirements, various forms of connection are used on the primary side of the instrument transformer; round bolts or flat connectors in various cross sections and hole patterns. A consistent adapter is required for all these connections in order to be able to connect and test the testing devices quickly, reliably, and at low resistance to the measurement converters.

Example No. 5 - Busbar connection fork plug

Multi-Contact proposed a double fork HP-GSRD 100 to inter-connect the busbars of power supply containers with a tolerance up to +/- 10mm. The flat connector HP-GSRD is ideally adapted for the power distribution system for the mining industry, which are built to last in the toughest environments. Example No. 6 - Busbar connection Rack Solutions

Rackable connector CLIPLAM CL-T for rapid replacement of power systems in wind turbines

Multi-Contact offered the rackable connector CLIPLAM CL-T. This withdrawal connection enables quick connections between two systems of double-pole insulated busbars. The contact is established through the MC MULTILAM, providing for low contact resistance and reducing the leakage inductance by up to 25% compared with bolted busbar connection. The Cliplam consist of:

 ▪ A plastic frame, that carries a fl at LA-CUT MULTILAM (No insulating function)

 ▪ Two plastic clips to fi x the frame on busbars (several thicknesses, from 2 to 5mm)

Example No. 7 - fork connector solution

Multi-Contact delivered a fork connector solution to connect special plug-in units to power bars.

We have offered a GSR5 (standart Slide-inline) to connect the plug-in unit to the power rails. The necessary cables and isolation housings are provided, tested and assembled by Multi-Contact.

Example No. 8 - Panel receptacle on generator

Planned maintenance actions and foresight of power outage or covering of peak consumption are reasons for using of backup generators. Multi-Contact provides rapid connection systems for feeding into the low voltage grid.
